  1. I think AI will definitely be better than in the first game. Especially in diplomacy. I look forward to it
  2. I tried to edit map a bit. Although it is far from good I think this is a bit better than what we see in game now. Yellow is province border changes and blue is suggested new provinces.
  3. That would be cool. I think someone will make a mod for sure. It would be also interesting to see for example another map focused only on Greece, Aegean sea, Anatolia during the time of Latin Empire, vassals and remnants of Byzantine Empire plus Venice and other states that were there.
  4. Yeah it is probably near release. Well it has been 3 years already. What I am worried is that only recently we saw the map. Map dev diary should have been one of the first dev diaries in my opinion. Now it is too late for any suggestions for the map. I mean Knights of honor I had better province shapes. Well I may sound annoying with it but I just can't understand this map. Most other things are splendidly done! So what happened here?! I just don't understand.
  5. That would be very interesting. Especially if the entire map is just holy land. So something like Holy Roman Empire mod if I remember it well?
  6. Also I noticed that on youtube video for this dev diary many people complain about the map and how bad some provinces are. Is there any hope they get fixed before release of the game? I too can't help but notice that some areas are just bad. For example Spanish border with Portugal is just complete fantasy. Some of the borders are just iconic you can't mess it up. Like Silesia, Prussia and Papacy. Currently the political map is so confusing to look at even though the map visals are definitely a good thing.
  7. There probably will be because I think I have seen "African" as culture on cultural map. There were no such characters in the first game because the map did not extend that south. In this game the map is extended more south and east than in the first game. Kind of sad they did not include Iceland or at least extended the map a bit more north too.
  8. I see Latium as a formable nation which is very interesting and I have not expected something like this! I did hope for Rome to be formable so I wonder is Latium basicly restored Rome? Or just first step at it? I wonder can Byzantium restore Rome? Are there any other formable nations? I think there are but did not expect something like Latium at all. What do you all think? What would be your guesses?
  9. Yes it sometimes does feel like they do that on purpose. A few is ok but yeah eu4 has like entire wave of dlcs. It is really a lot! But again one doesn't really need to buy all of them. Yes some can't control themselves in buying things but I think out of all things they buy dlcs are probably the most benign thing. Although I will probably not play eu4 again because of reasons I said before about it being complicated.
  10. Oh yes the text is blurry a bit and the UI was, for me, very overwhelming. I just got lost in all of that. Indeed I wish that too! Easy to learn but still has depth. I completely agree that KoH has potential for dlcs. Especially when it comes to expanding diplomacy or maybe even allowing to play as Papacy. Or maybe even dlc about naval warfare or naval range. Or maybe fixing some of the provinces although mods will probably do that. As for map expansions it would be interesting to see as you said Africa and America (one of kingdom advantages did mention 'new world' I think in knights of honour I) although I would first like to see all of Scandinavia and Iceland. It is kind of weird how map almost reaches Sahel but not Iceland. Also maybe dlc for more religions or new starting dates. It has potential! Of course not now like 20 dlcs but a few of them would be lovely.
  11. I fully agree. I once tried EU4 and well it is a shame how complicated it is. I don't feel like playing hours just to learn the basics. I also dislike how 1 wrong thing, it doesn't even have to be your fault, and it is practicly game over and you can basicly restart the game. So it looks like a sandbox with plenty of options but not really. You really need to follow instructions who to ally and when.
  12. Oh yes it is called medieval soap opera. That is the main thing I dislike about it and CK2 also. I wish it is more state oriented rather than person oriented.
  13. Indeed and this would be in relations mode I think. I rarely used diplomacy map because relations map already had icons for trade, war, non aggression pact, allience and crowns for princes and princesses.
  14. I love the new map modes! I especially like loyalty map and the option to see culture on the map. I wonder can culture too be partial like loyalty?
  15. Any news on new dev diary? When will be able to see start dates and maps? At least how they are selected before starting the game. I wonder is selection of kingdoms like in the first game when it comes to looks because it was really neat.
  16. "Next time we’ll will talk more about “Political view” and its filters " So I suppose this is postponed topic? I can understand why, people wanted to see battles. However I do hope this topic comes sooner or later.
  17. Also I think that for example Venice and Genoa should naturally care more about the opinions of merchants, even as AI controlled . And Papacy for example the cleregy.
  18. Oh indeed it would be interesting to see some antipopes and things like that.
  19. Also an idea I thought is that it should be possible is to put your army in your vassals towns and take food or maybe even men for army. Another idea is to create vassals out of conquered territory. Although makes little sense in KoH except if vassalage counts as conquest. I do hope AI is more reasonable in KoH2 because in the first game even if you conquered 90% of your enemy territories they sometimes refuse to peace out despite having no chance against you. So I just have to completely conquer them and either deal with rebels or give away provinces. Or you can just not conquer them but then you have to play long game of attrition (the more you are at war the unhappier the population is and rebels just start to be an epidemic) until they offer peace. So it would be neat if you can create a loyal puppet that you can later annex if you wish to do so.
  20. This should definitely be in the game, this would make having a vassal sense. I mean it is basicly something like a puppet state. It would be cool to have your own world order and map paint. I really hope vasallage will be handled better than in the first game. For example some already stated to be able to stop your vassal fighting wars or making them peace out with other countries. Also if you want to control everything then there should be an option to annex your vassal, besides that spy action to do that. So more ways to acquire land rather than just conquest. Or make ability to buy land, although from vassals it should be cheaper or just force them (although damages relations). Maybe ability to annex vassal if it has no heir. Or maybe if they reach -5 kingdom power and just becomes chaotic the vassal could be annexed. Just some ideas.
  21. Then why even bother with vasallage system or diplomacy if your goal is to grab all provinces anyway. I would then remove vasallage system altogether. If fact why not just make something like risk-board-game with no turns. Honestly this game is already 80% KoH 1 but better graphics + slightly bigger map but with worse borders.
  22. I completely agree! Conquering entire map not only feels very gamey but kind of very simplistic view of world domination. Yeah it is a goal and why not but again as soon as you take last province it is game over and you can't really continue. So I would rather conquer 60% of the map and try to see how long will the empire last. When I roleplay (in which I mean conquering land which makes sense to conquer. For example if I play as Venice I will conquer only coastal provinces and rule most of Eastern Mediterranean) I spend most of my wars also fixing border gores of other countries. Like Genoese province landlocked in the middle of Spain or Lithuania migrating to Balkans. This is why I support land claims mechanics. This is also why I support opinion mechanics because I can roleplay even more. For example if I play as Germany that only cares about military I could recreate Barbarossa or if I care only about opinion of cleregy I can play very religious Germany that cares mostly about crushades. Same as merchants I can play as Germany that has all the kingdom advantages and a lot of merchants and money.
