Iskar Posted December 15, 2022 Share Posted December 15, 2022 Once you choose one of your clerics as ecumenical patriarch he can no longer be dismissed and is stuck in your court. Even when he dies his successor automatically takes up his slot. It should be possible to dismiss (not exile!) the ecumenical patriarch to go back to idling in his palace in Constantinople while you can use the cleric of your choosing.
