Were they born to a married prince and when your prince became king they were already there?

No, I started the game with 1 prince who was also a Diplomat. I then had 3 more sons who were all spies. Never saw an option to choose the sons' class or name. As they grew I could choose their skills.

You get to choose the education when they are born. However, if your previous king died so late that your current king was already middle aged upon coronation they tend to have un-notified children, which will by default have the same specialisation as their father, so you can end up with four spy-sons of your spy-king.

Hmmm, I have a Diplomat king who is an adult. when the children have been born, I haven't seen a choice for education. I only get to choose their "skills". I will have to review that once I have other children with a future king.

I thought that was already a thing.

My knee-jerk reaction was to say no.  But honestly, if someone wants to blow a tradition slot on that, I'm okay with it.

Crusader Kings is that way.  --->

Satire aside, this isn't that kind of game.

I gotta admit, there is some fun potential in there.  Not sure if it is enough to justify the programmng work, though.

Hahaha, I will admit I do love my Crusader Kings. Per the first point... How do you change up the princes' career track? I had 4 sons all born as "Spies". Looked for a way to change them to something else like Merchant or Diplomat or Marshal, but couldn't find anything obvious.

  4. Some suggestions:

    1) The ability to choose the education type your child receives. At this time, the moment a child is born, they are either a spy/diplomat/marshal/etc. despite maybe having stronger strengths in other areas.

    2) The ability or a tradition that allows for choosing your heir.

    3) Add more family interactions for roleplay purposes perhaps, or to help explain why the 2nd prince decided to betray you and rebel with the support of your rival Kingdom cuz the 1st prince and 2nd prince never got along. Or how they're wives caused friction between brothers. Plenty of potential options.

    4) Include a way to track family hierachy  beyond one generation so we can at least have an idea how many grandchildren we have in line for the throne.

    5) Bastards. Let's get some illegitimate kiddos up in this joint. Maybe have an option to send children to Rome or Mecca or the Crusades or to a foreign power as a hostage.
