I would like to suggest some map suggestions:
Make Faroe a province
Make Scotland archipelago a province for Kingdom of the Isles
Make Aegian archipelago a province for Duchy of the Archipelago/Naxos
Make London more south and its own province
Make Paris province smaller
Some border changes like in Portugal, Baltic, Papacy

Very interesting, you have a lot of passion

I think that crusade should be something like: Pope announces a crusade but instead of asking Catholic states randomly there should be an option like "join crusade/ask to lead crusade" and select which knight will lead it. So something that you can control. Rather than a random message you can't avoid and punishes you if you refuse

It's intentional because what would be considered Pagan in Europe at those times were severely underdeveloped cultures in most cases, both scientifically and art wise, and/or really small, which is why it was so easy to subjugate them, and art was under patronage of either religion or wealthy individuals who were "religious" because state and church weren't split yet. Muslim also used religion and religious zeals as a tool, so...
Probably one of the more developed Pagan cultures would be Bosnia with Bosnian Church (while also having Orthodox and Catholic churches and religious institutes), which is... hard to define too, because Ottomans destroyed every info about it, other than what's left on a few monuments, some put it as Catholic, some as Orthodox, some as a mix, some as not an off shot Christian church at all, different countries and organization considered it differently at the time too, some considered it valid, some Pagan, and some even considered later as one of the origins/influences for Protestant church.
The reason why it was more developed than majority, is basically due to it's positioning, size, trade routes, and mixed population too, so it developed more too.Again it's hard if it was Pagan, and all of it's art is contained on Stećak type of monument, and is reaaaaaaly low quality too. Like if you saw it, you'd think it's prehistoric maybe. lol
What additionally makes it difficult, is that there were a few Pagan pantheons on Balkan peninsula too... so any of them could've been a part of belief too.
Pagan art could also be defined as art that predates Christianity (which would also include ancient greek, roman, egyptian... art too).
But basically in what game would cover, Pagan art was either ornamental, or decorative, or... craft.
You have no great sculptors and painters.
Even in KoH1 Pagans had hard time gaining Books (so it was hard to train Knights), there was no Piety income either, and there was no Temple equivalent of Cathedral/Grand Mosque there either, so no... it's not a bug.
Additionally Kingdom Advantages would be sort of Economic Victory, Pagan Kingdoms had trade bans imposed on them too, or were in most cases highly aggressive, bent on conquering, pillaging, stealing, and no one trusted them anyway. So such victory wouldn't make much sense. Which again... is additionally marked by gold % penalty on income.
I think art school and school in general should be related to how developed the kingdom is rather what religion it is. However it is true paganism in the game is meant more like primitive cultures, rather than just religion. But I don't think they should be completely unable to have art school.

It makes sense that destroying Papal States is like poking a bees nest, it is very important for Catholics but playing as one can be annoying as Pope constantly asks for crusades especially when I am in the middle of war

Thank you, glad you liked the post!
By the way, it seems that your "create vassal" idea was included in the last update! It works great, by the way. You can restore a faction in any province you conquer that is not of your same culture, making it a rather grateful vassal. However, I believe it works on a province-by-province basis, and I don't think you can ask for it on peace negotiations (though I believe you could ask for the land and then restore the faction), so you can't always fully restore conquered allies in this way.
You are welcome and yes I noticed that and I am glad it is in the game

Lovely suggestions, I would really like most of these to be added. Devs should consider your suggestions.
I think there should also be an option to create a vassal if you took a lot of someones territory. Or for example if you are Germany and allied to Burgundy in a war against France and France conquers Burgundy however at the end you take out France, there should be an option to restore Burgundy. Or like a peace treaty where you can demand France retreats from Burgundy (or you can say to them to keep Burgundy in final peace deal but become vassal or give some other land)

Import food and people to a province from another province
This is something I also thought of for a while. Like if there is a depopulated province that has seen many wars the player can send people there, if available, to recover the province faster. You could also send people to other kingdoms or newel conquered land. It should definitely impact culture and loyalty, maybe each time one sends people to the province of another culture the province culture changes by 5 or 10% to the player's culture. Or maybe one can send people of other culture to foreign lands too. This could be used as an alternative to (or with) culture conversion to speed up your culture on the map.

That is a good idea but I would like to see all of Scandinavia and Iceland first, or why not both at the same time. But no squishing of India please, a bit yes but not too much like Arabia is currently. Also Zoroastrianism should be in game because it was not yet fully eradicated in Persia I think (especially earlier start dates) , and the religion still exist nowadays if I am not mistaken. I can imagine someone playing as Persia and switches back to Zoroastrianism and all the fun drama it would create.

Of course, when I saw the message about the restoration of Byzantium (Although it would be more correct to call the Eastern Roman Empire, Byzantium is a modern term like Kievan Rus). So my first thought was - can I restore Rome completely? It was so logical that the people who called themselves Romans wanted all of Rome back.
Yeah I think this was a missed opportunity both in the first game and now. However in one gameplay devs formed Latium so maybe one should play as Latium to restore Rome? I mean when it comes to uniting or restoring a kingdom Roman Empire is one of the first things many think of so why isn't it in the game?

The "political view" might be touched a bit because with a lot of fights, it gets messy 🙂
I have been saying this for months, most borders make no sense like AI drew them, so I hope there will be a map mod or maybe devs change it in the update or DLC

Also lately I just don't bother with crusades unless I really have a spare knight, when I accept crusade I immediately press "x" to return my knight, however the downside is that all his original troops would have 0 xp

Can I, as Byzantium, capture the necessary regions and create the Roman Empire?
I don't understand why this is not a thing, I think most players tried to restore Rome in the first game and got disappoined, maybe in future they add it

Yes it would be good as dlc, I would definitely buy it
-
Yes that is a good idea. There should be a bit more info on who will get angry if I declare war on someone or when I send a trade agreement will it be accepted or not. Like percentage for agreements maybe.

I think generally there should be a map editor that would allow one to manipulate borders, set cities and settlements, change landmasses and seas, customise kingdoms etc. And that these would be saved as special maps. So you can do things from just editing Europe a bit to making complete fantasy landmasses.

Well I think it is a good suggestion that a kingdom can become an empire if it reaches certain size, maybe if you make your country 2x or 3x bigger than original or something like that. Maybe for Croatia to be "Empire of Croatia" for example it should require 6 or 8 more provinces than Croatia started with.
As for choosing a flag or banner and colour... I am not sure should it be in gameplay before map editor itself is added. I think that it would be weird to suddenly have such customisation powers in the gameplay while there is no map editor first, nor ability to change your flag whenever you want during gameplay or before it when you choose some kingdom.

You can't acces gunpowder
I wonder why is this, is it produced in a building that is not available for pagans? I still did not buy the game so I don't know. I wonder do they have temple as building instead of church?
I do hope in the future if they make dlc or, actually, I think it would be better as a mod that paganism gets split into more religions like Norse, Slavic, Hellenic, Tengri etc.
I feel like that paganism has difficultlies because it is supposed simulate being tribal and not yet fully civilised or having institutions Europe had that time. But I think something else should simulate that... Maybe just generally being "Tribe of (something)" should make one have penalties for money and books, regardless of religion (changing to abrahamic faiths will give some bonus but not too much, for all bonuses you need to reform into a kingdom or duchy or something that resembles a legit state). So if you are a tribe it should definitely encourage you raiding for more gold or calm down and reform into a kingdom.

Indeed I too would love to have this option. It is a bit hard to peace out with large kingdoms without conquering 80% of it and then you don't know what to do with these provinces. Giving them away for free seems like I fought for nothing. It would be neat to release kingdoms as puppet/vassal states, at least your former allies like "restore Papacy" option.
Although this should come with some penalty like army opinion drop. Or maybe creating a vassal costs money and books. Although maybe player can negotiate with loyalist rebel to restore his kingdom but as vassal.

I really dislike this change. If I want a piece of land, idc if it shares the same culture. I'll deal with the consequences.
I agree. I think the culture and loyalty should play a role but should not limit the player too much. And an ability to buy or sell provinces would be neat. And maybe a way to bring back states you were allied with after defeating an enemy which conquered them. Like "restore Papacy" option but for your allies

Sorry but I don't think it is possible to buy PC games on CDs or DVDs anymore sadly
-
Well I agree there should be some basis in reality but some should stay random. Some balancing would be neat I agree. However I don't mind if for example small province doesn't have for example any monasteries but like 2 farms and 1 castle. But I can definitely understand why having all of 3 slots just farms can bother some players

How does this game calculate where to put the country name?

I think it would be better if 2 names rule was ignored here where landmasses are so close that it should be treated as 1 landmass rather than 2 separate ones. It would make sense to have 2 names if one doesn't control Constantinople, so it gives you map aesthetic reason to take over the city. I also think Sicily and south Italy should be treated as one landmass.
