  1. It's those "unnecessary details" that set this game apart from the myriad of Civ clones.
  2. Bumping this topic, also wanted to add a suggestion: The algorithm for resource placement should be more realistic. For example, vineyards should have a very high probability of spawning in provinces on the Italian peninsula. Cows in England, horses on the steppes, etc. In more than half the campaigns I have started there are zero vineyards in Italy. That kind of break from realism just really bugs me. This change would add flavor and create more agency to the player. You might decide to invade a kingdom because of the resources it naturally possesses.
  3. Thank you devs!!! By embracing mods you give every player a chance to enjoy your creation the way that suits them best. Loving the game as it is, can't wait for the flavor mods can bring.
  4. Oh right, it's just a game - so why did the devs bother to make anything historically accurate at all? Might as well go play checkers if it's "just a game."
  5. If settlements / resources are going to be random, the system needs a lot of improvement. I've started dozens of new campaigns and cannot get anything close to a realistic distribution. Examples of what I'm talking about: A small province with only 3-4 spots should never have more than 1 castle, 1 monastery, etc. A large province should always have at least 1 village. A large kingdom should always have at least 2 castles, monasteries, villages and crop farms. A large kingdom should always have at least 1 of certain things relevant to the region - for example England should have at least 1 cattle farm, 1 sheep farm, etc. PLEASE devs - either give us the option to set these things on our own, or improve the random generation.
  6. Devs PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE add this feature!! Or add a way for us to set our own resource ratios. I love the game, but it's so frustrating when you start a new campaign and your kingdom is 70% monasteries, 20% quarries, and 10% villages. Those numbers are a silly example but you get the point. It would be great to have the ability to set max# of any given resource per province. That way London isn't surrounded by monasteries, for example.
